TEST PROCEDURES FOR BATTERIES WITH REMOVABLE VENT PLUGS

A - VISUAL BATTERY CHECK

A1. Does the battery leak?
YES - non valid claim
NO - move to A2

A2. Is the battery voltage 12.5 or over?
YES - move to A3
NO - recharge & retest

A3. Are the battery cells evenly covered with electrolyte?
YES - move to B
NO - non valid claim - fault due to high operating conditions or over charging

B -HIGH RATE DISCHARGE TEST

Battery must be 12.5v or more. Refer to tester instructions.

TEST PROCEDURES FOR SEALED BATTERIES

Innovative Lead Calcium batteries like Platinum Prestige, use a sealed labyrinth system, and have no removable vent plugs. Therefore the best means of checking the condition of the battery to be tested, is with an approved digital electronic tester.

NO - move to A2

A2. Is the battery voltage 12.5 or over?
YES - move to B
NO - recharge & retest or over charging

B -HIGH RATE DISCHARGE TEST
